Hi everybody,
I know this has been posted before but I couldn't track down the old link. I'll be making my visa run at the end of the month and am hoping some of you still remember the email addresses/phone numbers of the travel agents you have used to get you the best flight deals. If you remember, please let me know and also let me know the deal that you got. Thanks everyone.

I usually go to Top Travel at the Shinchon intersection, right above "A Twosome Place". Just the other day there I bought a round-trip ticket to Fukuoka for this weekend for about 235,000 won including tax.

That is a good deal. I was told by my previous boss over a year ago it cost about 300,000 (Osaka).

By the way I have heard the visa run to Fukuoka can be done without staying overnight now. Is that correct?

Aren't Top Travel and Xanadu advertised in the local papers? Websites will be there.

That price sounds normal for Osaka. Fukuoka is cheaper. Yes, I've heard the same thing about the visa run in Fukuoka, provided you get there before lunch. I've left myself two days to get things done in Fukuoka after travelling around for the first 5 days of the trip so I'm not worried either way. I couldn't imagine going all the way to Japan just for one day.

Jajdude is right. All the travel agents that speak English are advertised in the Korea Herald. Buy a paper and have a look.

In December I bought a ticket to Singapore from Top Travel. I visited their main office (I think it was their main office -- they had a bazillion agents in there) on the top floor of the YMCA building at Jonggak.

The YMCA building is on the "neighborhood map" in the subway station. It's a straight shot from one of the exits, an older building on your left side as you walk down the sidewalk.

I worked with a nice lady named Jung-Ah. Her desk is one of the first ones you'll see when you walk into their office, and you could probably ask for her when you arrive. She spoke decent English and made me aware of all the flight options available.

Oh, and if you're flying within Asia don't bother with STA. It's in the YMCA building too. They told me they only book tickets to other continents these days.

Thanks. I'll try those places and sites out. 200 and something sounds like a good price.
