I just recieved an offer from a Japanese univeristy that starts around April 1. I'm waiting for the contract but because of the Korean New Year this is a lost week. I presently work at a Korean university that starts Feb. 28. Before I got the offer I went to immigration to do my regular visa extension for next year and they said there was a problem with some numbers and take it back to the univeristy and have them redo it. That was Feb. 4. Now I'm waiting to see the contract, and waiting for my Korean visa. Any suggestions; My visa runs out on Feb. 22 I want to see the contract before I say anything to the Korean university but time is running out. What to do;
1. Go ahead and get the Korean visa to be safe, get the Japanese contract, and then talk to the Korean univeristy?
2. Tell the university I'm willing to work until they find a replacement? I'm on very good terms with the university and my Korean fiancee has been in Japan a long time. I've got a real sob story letter prepared. I've been in Korea for five years at the same univeristy
3. Ask for a one month tourist visa only?
4. Ask for a one month work visa?
5. Leave on Feb. 22 when my current visa expires?
Any suggestions? |
