With a few exceptions, what normal man has a mustache in Western society? Do women find that attractive? C'mon you're not Lech Walesa. Beards I can deal. Goatees sort of piss me off because it seems to me too many young men go "oh this will make me look just like the Barenaked Ladies". But mustaches? Everyone I've ever known with a mustache has an anger management problem.

Lech Walesa toppled communism. What have you done?

Many Korean model/actor/singer type dudes are growing thin mustaches and short goatees. It's just a fashion though. They're not actually rebelling against Korean society which sees facial hair as acceptable only if you're an artist and that's it.

That's my point. You win a Nobel and you topple communism you can get away with a mustache. If not, either go for a full beard or quit looking like a date rapist.

Not what you said. You said: "Everyone I've ever known with a mustache has an anger management problem". Obviously you know Walesa so does that mean that he has an anger management problem? Because he got angry at the communists and did something about it?

A facial here, a facial there.... a facial anywhere, what's the big deal???

OH! Facial hair....

Wink

Anyway, forget all this non-comforming stuff -- I think the reason Koreans don't have much facial hair is genetic. Most of them can't grow much of anything on their faces. I dated my husband for almost a year before I realized that the spots I thought he kept missing were actually the only spots where hair was growing. He wasn't missing them -- he was taking a few days off from shaving! Laughing

My boyfriend has a beard and moustache. We sent our pics out to some recruiters. More than one asked us to send another pic without the facial hair...not that they minded of course, "it is just that Korean are very conservative, you see."

He did not shave. We did not send a hairless pic. We, however, get really good jobs. The jobs are teaching adults...maybe that had something to do with it.

There are jobs where they won't care. Unfortunately, lots of jobs won't even consider you with the 'stache. Others might ask you to shave. Hold out for the ones who don't care. Maybe try for a gig with adults.

I'm glad to see casey's mom noticed that in the post following the first, that i did indeed correct myself on what was not a misspelling, but rather a missed word. Facail "hair" here... Tracking?

I know I shuld always proof a post beforehand, but alas no one is perfect... especially those who lack any attention to detail or the gift of proper reading

OK super chrondo, you're looking for a response... I'll give it to you.

First off, I took the time to skim over your 1200+posts on this forum.I don't know of any others you may post to, but I'll bet there is at least one. Assuming you don't keep "multiple presonalities" here of course.

Second, I know you... in a metaphorical sense. You're one of the ppl who scan the I-net with the vast majority of your free time due to the fact that virtual reality, as opposed to actualy reality, is far more to your liking. Here you can sound like some kind of saint or psuedoprophet, doling out advice and making witty remarks, while in the real world you are some kind of social missfit. But hey, we all are, so I won't hold that against you.

Now we must take into account the fact that you missed my correction of my own mistake. That's called honor where I'm from, and I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that you lack it. The fact that I'm here trying to get my feet wet in a job search and hopefully meet some ppl with REAL wisdom while you try to pick a posting fight only serves to prove that.

Tell me, do you pick fights in actual reality?

Moving on...

I understand that you may or may not be like so many other grammer and spelling Nazis, in the sense that you jump all over those who don't meet your high intellectual standards like the SS Waffen over Crete. Again, I don't care. I have neither the time, energy or incli-friggin'-nation to deal with some little twirp.

I have research to do. If you don't want to be helpful, fine. Just don't be a bother in the process. Now, before anyone claims that this little rant is due to my suspossed anger management problem which must stem from my date rape facial decorum... again, I guess actual reality (and all the varied souls in it) is far too tough for you to deal with.

Keep up the witty responses... now I know why we always called that place GEEKos back in tha day when we felt like beating up some Canadiadiadians. Funny thing is I've now grown up... have you?

Sorry folks from Canada... must be the moustache talking again.

Rarities in Korea include:

Facial hair

White or black people

Deodorant

and many other things

I don't see why hair on your face would matter, but, silly me, some Koreans are real morons about trivial things.

Umm, my name is casey's moon, not mom. I'm nobody's mom and Casey is my dog. (I don't go along with that whole parenting your pets thing -- yuck)

You, sir, need to lighten up a bit, and I don't mean the mustache. Learn to laugh at yourself a tiny bit and you'll probably find that the world is a better place. Take care and happy job hunting. Very Happy

If someone drawing reference to your grammar and writing style on here, gets you so wound up that you need to go back and read the posting history of that person, and then totally lose it in the ensuing over-the-top response, I think that your moustache should be the least of your concerns about living/working in the thick of the culture over here.

Your response as a "newbie" to Chronicpride is a bit "Rich" in Korea, don't you think? Laughing
