Tried the search...lots of info on first time refunds and people who never applied, but...

I worked for a year and a half, applied for my refund and got it. I didn't think I would be returning to SK. Now, I am starting a new job in Korea, and am wondering if I can get it again. Anyone know about this?

Or maybe there is a way to be exempt from paying? I doubt it.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I have picked up my pension at the end of each contract without any problems.

Just out of curiousity...the pension office told my husband I couldn't apply to receive my pension until one month before I leave korea...I have to bring my flight ticket in to prove to them that I am leaving. Did you have to do this?

Yeah, they will make you come back. We went 5 weeks before we were scheduled to leave SK. They sent us away and told us to come back in a week.

Make sure your school knows that you are going to apply for the pension a month in advance. When we went, we were told that the pension office didn't have the proper paperwork from our school. They tried calling our school, but no one with authority was around. We had to go back to our school and tell them to register. Actually, I don't know exactly what the school has to do, but the pension office has to somehow be informed of your leaving. Our school ended up telling us that they were waiting so that we could get back our money from that last month. The pension office later said that the school doesn't need to wait. The pension office takes the last month into consideration when calculating the refund. That's the story we got, anyway.
