I'm sorry, but that doesn't fly. He respected her wishes to remain celibate, when in fact she was out bangin some other dude.
That's pathetic. That girl is almost inevitably going to completely jack up whatever guy she winds up marrying, and then spend the rest of her life feeling sorry for herself cuz she's stuck in a loveless unfaithful relationship, divorced and lonely, etc.
Speaking from the standpoint of a virgin on the run, I've found women to be worth waiting for at about the same rate as men. Which is to say: not freaking often. Unless she is certifiably virginal, and how will you KNOW without banging her, or spending pretty much all her free time with you, you better expect 90% of women to be playing this sort of game.
To plagarize superhal, intellectually a girl may like you and/or find you to be for whatever reason 'a good prospect', but if she doesn't respect you as a male, and/or you don't flip her switches so to speak, you may as well assume you can't trust her. At least unless there is a permanent relationship which she's willing to suffer through some sexual boredom for awhile for. Even then, you better figure out a way to start flipping switches again. Otherwise blame yourself for tempting her.
But yes, as for the original topic, why bother, everyone pretty much already has firm opinions on this by adulthood. Me, I turn the tables. I don't date girls with financial problems or who I don't think could take care of themselves fine without me. And if I don't think SHE can wait for ME, I don't bother. |
