Jobseekers are expected to have greater career opportunities in the second quarter as Korean manufacturers plan to expand their hiring in the next three months.

According to the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Sunday, its employment projection index (EPI) for the second quarter came out at 104, up from 100 in the first quarter. An index below 100 indicates that companies foresee a decline in new employment in the coming quarter and a figure above 100 points to an increase in employment. The KCCI surveyed 1,324 local manufacturers.
