This morning was winter wonderland in Busan. I took some pictures and posted them on my blog. Take a look if you want.

Marlow's Blog

I think it is very rare for Busan to get this much snow. This is only my second winter here, though.

Are you kidding? Shocked

I'm on Geoje Island, 40 minutes by ferry south of Busan.

And everything is just green here!

Amazing how close yet how different the weather can be. Busan is famous for being colder and windier than here, but wow, that's a lot of snow. It sprinkled here last night but nothing stayed on the ground.

Nope. Very Happy

I would guess 40cm came down, but a lot of it already melted. In the pics on my blog you can see the depth of the snow on the cars.

It wasn't too cold here, so luckily most of what landed on the busy roads melted as it fell. Anywhere else it piled up.

That explains it. It's usually about 2 or 3 degrees warmer here on the island, that could have made a big difference.

The day after I move to Busan they get the heaviest snowfall in 10 years. In March. Figures. Oh well, I got some good pictures of the snow-covered palm trees.

Saturday's snow was the largest snowfall in Busan in 100 years!!

The snow back in 2001-2002 was quite a bit smaller, that was the biggest in 50 years.

Haha, the college is way up the side of a mountain and the adjoshi janitor types were out there yesterday melting the snow with cold water which would freeze on it's way down the road. Students were falling everywhere. Cars were spinning their wheels. The smell of burning rubber was filling the air. Lovely strategy. It was nice up here today.

We got about 40cm. The Korean weather site Sunday morning registered like 39.? as the snowfall amount.

If you look at my blog you can see how much came down by the piles on top of cars.

It melted really quickly, though.

I'm happy you find it pretty phucking hilarious to laugh at people with taped ankles and on crutches.

People on this board never cease to amaze me.
