Busan Panty Thief
Police have busted an unmarried man for stealing 1,300 women's undergarments over the last two years. Busan's Haeundae Police Station on Wednesday arrested a 36-year-old man identified as Lee for sneaking into yards or on rooftops during daylight hours to steel women's panties and other undergarments from clotheslines.

According to police, Lee stole 1,330 pairs of panties and 60 pairs of women's pants in 158 separate attempts since April 2003. This includes three pairs of panties and four pairs of pants stolen from a 46-year-old woman identified as Choi of Busan in January last year.

Lee told police he kept the stolen undergarments in his closet, neatly arranged according to color and kind. He took them out whenever he felt lonely, he said.

I wonder if the Busan dude is related to the korean panty thief dude in Washington State, USA? Strange coincidence! Or is it a franchise deal?

Panty thief suspect Sung Koo Kim faces even more counts

McMinnville, Ore. - Panty thief suspect Sung Koo Kim made yet another court appearance on Wednesday, this time in Yamhill County.

Two additional burglary charges involving burglaries at George Fox University were lodged against Kim, along with a theft charge.
This week it was reported that Kim also stole something from the same apartment complex where Brooke was abducted. What did he steal? DRYER LINT. You read that last line correctly. He stole dryer lint from a college laundry room (and apparently put it in a bag and labelled it). He has also been accused of stalking a 20-year-old female swimmer at Oregon State University (who supposedly looks just like Brooke Wilberger). Are you sufficiently creeped out yet? The police are now testing hair and what could be blood that they removed from Mr. Kim's car.

Kim now faces a total of 18 counts in Yamhill County alone. He faces counts in several other Oregon counties as well on charges he stole over 3,000 of pairs of women's underwear from colleges throughout the state.

Kim also faces charges in Benton, Washington and Multnomah Counties that claim he downloaded child pornography onto his home computer.
At Wednesday's court proceeding, Kim's attorney asked that bail be dropped from $4 million to $50,000, a request that was turned down by the judge, who said Kim remains a danger to the community and a flight risk.

"I feel that the security here is not reasonable under all circumstances and that it should be reduced," said Kim's Attorney Des Connall.

Kim appeared in person, as opposed to via closed circuit television. Kim's parents, who have religiously attended their son's hearings, were in the courtroom as well.

Kim's next court appearance will be December 8 in Benton County, followed by another Yamhill County appearance on January 5.

In addition to facing a slew of theft charges, Kim also remains a person of interest in the disappearance of Brooke Wilberger, who has now been missing since May of 2004.

I think 60 Minutes should do an investigatory piece on him.

Not when a 46 year old woman is involved!

I was actually giving the guy a bit of credit planning ahead and only stealing clean ones...
