2 months ago, a charming little woman rang our doorbell, peddling home delivered milk.
cool, i thought...my girlfriend took care of the particulars, emphasizing that only low fat milk would be acceptable.

there was no contract to sign, but apparently we verbally agreed to a year's service.

i say 'apparently', because the deal has since gone 'sour'.
about a week into the deal, i noticed that the milk wasn't low fat. rather it was labelled "health plus". i suppose the plus part was an extra 5% fat.

the girlfriend made a call, but the problem was not rectified.

in the third week, we tried to cancel the service, but the milk kept coming.
we thought it was just because we paid in advance for the first month.

into the second month, we called again. we were informed that we couldn't cancel. we had agreed to a year.
well, fine and dandy, but it would be nice to get what we paid for.
also...instead of dropping off a litre carton, they would drop 2, 450ml cartons about every other time.

so, lower quantity = lower fat, i guess.

now, the third call. the woman is no longer charming. she wants us to pay W19,000 to cancel the contract.
my girlfriend has given her name and phone number to them so she won't allow me to skip out on the cancellation charge, even though we were never informed of it from the get-go.

if you've stayed with me this long, i wanna know if there is a consumer protection agency in korea that i can go whine to.

is there? or am i really that petty?

Sounds like your friend is allowing this woman to walk all over here (in conversation).

Your friend needs to go nuts on this person and tell them they will never get another fucking won and if any more fucking milk is brought to the house she is going to shove it up her little tight ass.

What is wrong with telling the milkman/lady to stop deliveries! Gesh...you need to be talking tough and back it up!

the milk is delivered sometime between 6-8am. they hang it on my door. i'm not able to sense when they will be here, so the most we could do is call them.
we did, three times.
they are coming today to collect the cancellation fee. i'm only paying for the milk we bought.

Don't cancel, tell them you decide to drink the milk, let them bring the milk and then when they ask you for money, don't pay them. If they ring your doorbell, ignore it Razz We did this with milk and newspaper. We called them and said we didn't want anymore as we would be moving soon and they kept bringing. Then when they wanted money we ignored them until they stopped bringing and then my husband would go, pay what we asked for and not the others because it wasn't our fault that they brought the stuff.

Then you don't have to worry about whether your milk is low fat. It's such a small amount of fat it's ridiculous. Take one less bite of your next donut. That will make up for a month of the fat difference in the milk.

Maybe try showing the lady an actual carton of this low fat milk. Maybe she can order it if she knows what it is.

wow. you speak as if you know absolutely nothing about me. Rolling Eyes

you'd better go back to looking at that she-male thread...then next time you go to thailand, you'll end up with a real woman instead of what happened last time.

Or deliver to her door every night the same milk that was dropped off at your house that morning. When she refuses to pay, tell her "that's OK, this one's on the house." Make sure the "freebie" is sufficiently poisoned.

Problem solved.

i see. Laughing
when did i say that i refuse to go to starbucks because they refused ME and ONLY me, free service?? that wasn't the issue at all. ...and by that post you so brilliantly deduce i eat donuts and don't exercise???
nice one, nancy drew.

if i remember correctly, you said in that thread that you would ditch a buddy because he was hanging in a starbucks.

I agree. I'm not one to make judgements or stereotype people, but whenever I see someone who I know to hang out in Starbucks, I turn the other way and walk.

and now you're judging me?

considering you couldn't understand that old post...i can see why you have trouble with this one, as well.
don't worry , there's hope for you.

that's why i suggested you keep studying on those she-males.
whether or not you ever came to daegu, or that i may or may not know you, has nothing to do with the problem you had in thailand....

it's obvious...you're one confused little moron...and you've just proved it a third time.

Here'as a tip on how things work in Korea.

If she leaves the milk outside the door and you take it, you are effectively continuing the contract. Remove the bag and don't under any circumstances take the milk, kick it to one side and let it pile up.
Problem solved.
