Maybe this is old news in your parts, but I noticed my local Carrefour (Nowon branch) started selling their own Carrefour brand bread. It was cheap too, 980 won a loaf. So I bought it. I had a few slices the other day and it tasted funny, by which I mean it didn't taste like it was made with pure cream. In other words, the bread tasted like normal bread we enjoy in North America. Huh.

I got wheat bread there (same branch) and it tasted fine. Was surprised to see wheat bread. Stay clear of the ones with corn and jelly bits, though.

Yup, Carrefour bakery makes decent bread.

I recently bought costco's bean bread and was surprised that it tasted so good!

I find the Carrefour bread always tastes stale a day after you buy it no matter what you do. I found one type that was really tasty and made a good sandwich after you picked out all the walnuts. Unfortunately going to the bakery means going by the veggie salesman's 100-watt amp, a most unpleasant journey.
