Can you post some digital photos of the inputs and OS screens on the TV?

Well, if it is driving you nuts I can take it off your hands. Just give it to me Laughing
Seriously, the OS language has nothing to do with it. Best bet is to get someone who knows what to do and pay to get it hooked up the way you want.

Why, thank you for the kind offer Mishlert, but it'd be easier and cheaper to chuck it out the window. Laughing Naaaa...at least it DOES work as a computer monitor. Perhaps I'm being greedy somehow in wanting it to work completely.

...naaaa

This is the longest thread with the shortest answer....

You need to learn Korean or get a Korean to help you.

Well, feel free to delete the thread. Oh, yeah, I forgot. We don't have the power to delete threads that don't really serve a useful purpose. Too bad for you.

But, thanks to all the others who tried to help me.

Actually you know, I don't think you should be dissing demophobe - he/she has the best answers on the tech forum. Just because the only good answer available to you isn't really all that good, doesn't mean you should be an ass.

Anyhow get a Korean friend to read the manual, preferably a Korean friend who is not a technotard. Or spend a year or two learning Korean and try it again yourself. Razz

There is no doubt that my answer was a bit rude, and I should have couched it in more diplomatic terms. The bottom line would have been the same however, and having someone spend an hour explaining the functions of the monitor and the remote would have settled all the issues much earlier.

To pet lover; sorry if I came off as a jerk.

One question though.....how have you been using Korean Windows this long without issue?!? If I were using this.....er......quirky..... OS in a language I couldn't understand, I would have gone mad. Like the errors aren't sometimes cryptic enough...!

Demophobe, Sorry if I came off testy...this monitor thing is driving me mad.

Before this computer, I was using a laptop I purchased in the states. When I decided to buy a new computer, I decided on a lap top and the number one thing I wanted was an English OS.

The only time I've ever used a computer with Korean OS was way back in the days before my laptop when I suffered in PC bangs.

Also, I DID come to the conclusion further back in the thread that I would have to hire someone with know-how. However, even though I'm quite the dimwit when it comes to computers, it really doesn't make sense to me that an English OS would affect the functioning of my monitor--which I always considered to be seperate from the computer. This is what I was told was the cause and it just didn't make sense, so I wanted someone, anyone, to explain to me how that could be. The guy who got this computer for me supposedly works for a computer company, so he should have known his business, but I guess he doesn't. It makes it more difficult that the guy in question is my boss' brother--makes it difficult to question his knowledge. *sigh*

And yeah, I know that I should be learning Korean. No classes in my area and I do not work well on my own. I tend to fall asleep right on the book while listening to the tapes. I'm not linguistically inclined in the least. And for the most part, it doesn't reallly bother me as I don't really WANT to know what is being said around me. I enjoy living in a little cocoon of ignorance--quite peaceful. Embarassed

I am sorry, but thats rubbish in my opinion, because you use an english OS it should not make a difference. As long as you can install the drivers for the hardware (if any) that should be enough. The TV signal does not differentiate between english and korean. For petes sake its a hardware device!!!

Just my 5 cents.
