The problem with the w3c validator is that is validates against its own standard. This is a standard that most browsers have not adopted, and may never adopt. Something can validate in the w3c validator and not display properly in any browser. Something may look great in any browser and yet be invalid. The Google homepage is one of many examples of this.
This is why its probably best not to get too hung up on it.
Personally, I use HTMLTidy, which is free. The CSE html validator is not free, but is hardcore. |
