So, once I get my visa confirmation in the mail from my employer, do I have to actualy GO TO a consulate in my country to get the stamp? The closest one is 700 miles from my house. Can't they just stamp it at the airport? |

Well, where are you?
If you are at your home, you can get it done at the nearest consulate... or you can fly out of the country.
No, they don't do it at the airport.
You can overnight mail it with an overnight return mail envelope. Don't go cheap.. the US Postal service lost my passport in the mail for over a month! (I thought "Priority" meant something, but I guess not!) |

Tell me more about how to do an "overnight return mail envelope." My post office told me I couldn't prepay Express Mail or Priority Mail, so I just sent a First Class SASE. The embassy wouldn't return my passport First Class, but neiter would they call collect or send a post card to inform me of this policy. Finally I called them and they told me to send them $3.70 in First Class stamps!
Since then, I take a two-day trip and do it in person! |

Well, I used Federal Express, which was really expensive, but fast. |

To get my degree niotarized, I used fed ex. You set up an account with them (give them a card number). Send a return packing slip in with your package. The consulate uses the return packing slip, and the freight is charged to your card. |
