This CNET article may be of assistance.

My girlfriend got me a pair of Shure E2C earbuds for my birthday. They sound absolutely great -- ten times better than the stock iPod earphones. They're a lot more comfortable too, and never fall out of my ear. However, they only come in black. I would've liked the white E3Cs, but I think they're a little expensive for a birthday present.

She bought them in LA, not Korea. There's a Shure distributor in Korea, but I'm pretty sure they only deal with professional recording equipment, not consumer electronics.

any big record shops- including the ones in the Co-ex and Gangnam bus terminal, and anywhere that sells walkman/MP3 type gizmos (I know the little "iRiver" shop near Hyundai in Sinchon has them)

I bought Bose headphones with my I-Pod. They are great- but they cost about $150 U.S. I like that headphones are very secure, and the Bose block out all of the ambient noise. Great base, too.
