Going back to the same places, seeing the same faces. This is particularily the case in Itaewon I find. Hongdae and Sinchon are ok from time to time, but if I'm honest with myself it doesn't really do it for me. Kangnam/Apkjuong are expensive, quiet and uninspiring.

Drawing to the end of my contract so maybe its just the fact that familarity does lead to contempt (perhaps too strong a word, but you get my drift). Feel like my money would be better directed into some really fantastic nights out when i get home and on long, exotic holidays.

Hmm. Maybe you should leave Korea, Seoul, and get new surroundings. I sympathize with you. After I've been in one place for a while, it gets old. I find it hard to get attached to things (even people) for long periods of time. Maybe you should go backpack around for a while, or vacation. I was only in Vancouver for 6 months after getting back from Europe before I lost toleration for my regular, usual, surroundings, people, work, etc. Had to out there again & travel, change it up a bit. Life is boring when it's same-old same-old. Get some new surroundings, people, etc, and things might be good for ya. Smile

Try a random subway stop for a night out - Sillim has a decent nightlife, as does the Konkuk University area. Even Monchontoseong has a fair amount of places to go for some beers... you don't have to restrict yourself to the 'obvious' places.

Maybe you need to go see different friends.. call some that you haven't seen in awhile.. or haven't been out with in awhile.. or never been out with before.

I find the experiences of who you are out with more interesting many times than what bar you are drinking in.

The responsibility of not being bored squarely rests on the shoulders of the bored.
