I was at CoEx Mall today.. saw a line of about 50 people spanning half dozen stores or so.

Made me curious what kind of restaurant it was.. and it said OMURICE.. a 'fusion restaurant'.. they had displays of about 20 types of rice wrapped in omelets with various 'other' foods for variation.

Has anyone had OMURICE, or just not me?

Yeah, that burger joint is another I'd like to try.. always a VERY long line. It actually appears to be a real legit burger joint made the way they are suppose to be made! Haven't been there yet.. but been wanting to though.

Ive been wanting to try that Burger place too! Omurice doesn't look too appealing to me though, eggs and rice and ketchup, I can make that myself in my apartment when i only have man won left for the week, no way i'd shell out for it in a restaurant. But that's just me.

Unfortunately I don't get to try too many of the places in Coex as my boyfriend always wants to hit Sabarro's. Hey at least they serve beer. Cool

The burgers in the burger place in COEX are quite good if quite small. Their fries are crap though Sad

haha.. that sounds like me! I can't be bothered with anyone else in all reality because of Sbarros!

Today I had the sbarros spaghetti & meatballs.. then hit the bookstore and everywhere else for several hours until I was hungry enough for a couple slices of sbarros pizza! Cool

It is good food, but would anybody who visits the COEX, eat anything other than slices of pie from Sabarro's. All the other wonderful foods can be found elsewhere, but slices can only be found at the COEX.

That crap wore off fast (the omurice). Had it once, thought it was interesting, and ever since then, it's been pure buttnasty. Maybe they use special sauces there or something, because I have had good omurice before...just not at any regular place.

The greasy spoon (chopstick?) on the basement level of our office building makes the best omurice in the world. Portion size is twice as big as that shown in the pic TB posted, and they cover it in this tasty ketchup and brown-mixed sauce.

There's a place near Seohyeon station that serves fried chicken legs on their omurice. Have to check that out sometime.

Yes, I've had it. Sad On Easter sunday I went to lunch with four korean girls who I've known for a long time. They really wanted to go to this trendy-looking place called Omuto Tomato in kangnam. I wasn't expecting it to be bad, but it was freakin nasty! It's like an omlette made from not enough eggs stuffed with some weird rice and topped with imitation melted cheese. It was like goo on a plate. They all loved it, so I tried to be polite. Rolling Eyes I will never darken the door of another place like that again. I should have known with a name like Omuto Tomato that they'd be cranking out something loco there. Wink

It's not a new dish, so I really don't understand why it's so popular right now (is it a retro thing?). When I want egg with my rice, I prefer eating fried rice from a Chinese restaurant.
