I had never gone to a bar in Kangnam until recently. The people seem to have lousy attitudes there. So many of them seem to think they are so cool. They are not. Many of them are shallow and stuck up. And yet walk around like their crap never stinks.

How many bars throughout Kangnam did you go into? That's quite a big plot of land to cover with several hundred bars in it. I usually frequent different bars in various sections of Kangnam, like Apgujeong and Nonhyeon, and find that there really is no consistent pattern of behavior.

I live in Gangnam and I do sense that the people here have a bit of an attitude about living in the 'money-center' of Korea.

Also, Gangnam is not that cool. It's not so different from the rest of Seoul. The only difference I can detect is that the buildings are a bit more modern and the people a bit richer. Not much difference though. It's true. Gangnam ain't all that.

I've been here over 4 years, never really had many reasons to go to Kangnam.

arrogance can be found in all the countries..
this is the MELROSE of Korea.. the beverly hills, the upper east of manhattan.. blar blar.. let them think they are cool.. we all know APKU is nothing to walk around trying to think you are cool about..
you want to pay 8000 won for heineken and think you cool.. go for it!
most of them are wannabies.. of course many of them are daddy's little rich kids..

Women in bars in gangnam are not out to meet ESL teachers who, in their mind, seem to believe 2 million won a month is the height of their earning potential. They're trying to find good providers before they hit that magic age of 30 and no employer will hire them.

I was told that if one eats rose petals one's crap does indeed not stink.

It is attitude, that is what makes the place. You need to add your contribution.
