The current song:

wild sphere wrote:

late 70s i think?

oooo baby,
move closer to me
i've had all that i can stand
take hold of me with your hands

oh baby,
you give me the chills
whisper low in my ear
let knows how it feels
just to know you are near

your body gives me a thrill
as it leans against mine
i love how it feels
with your jeans against mine

Oh, the dearly departed.

Wild Sphere, that heart loving 70's romantic man child, isn't here anymore to let us in on that last song. Okay, no problem. On we - or maybe just I - go.

Anybody got any idea what this is? From 1965.

Probably my favorite song of theirs.

I don't know why she's riding so high
She ought to think twice
She ought to live right by me

Before she gets to saying goodbye
She ought to think twice
She ought to do right by me

don't touch me there - the tubes Cool

late 80s early 90s (not sure)?

I'm holding on
You're all that's left to hold on to

And we scorch the earth
Set fire to the sky
Stoop so low to reach so high
A link is lost
The chain undone
Now we wait all day
For the night to come
And it comes
And it comes
Like a hunter (child)

I'm hanging on
You're all that's left to hang on to
I'm hanging on to
You're all that's left to hang on to

I love that tune. Let's go down to Red Hill Mining Town, U2. It's from 1987.

Okay, so here's mine again. Supereasy.

ticket to ride - The Beatles Cool

70s

in the night
do you light a lover's fire
do the ashes of desire for you remain

like the sea
there's a love too deep to show
took a storm before my love flowed for you

C'Est la Vie - Emerson, Lake & Palmer

This verse always provokes a snigger.... also from the 70s I think:

- He flexes like a whore
Falls wanking to the floor
His trick is you and me boy

'Time' by David Bowie.

Haven't heard that record in years!

How about this one from the 70s also:

And you hope she'll sing
But she sings of greed
Like a young banshee
And she wants for this
And she wants for that
What did you think?

It was covered by Depeche Mode I think, but I don't know the name of the song. Can you give us a hint?

OK. Hint: It was recorded by a mate of Bowie in the mid 70's.

With a bit of guesswork (your hint brought to mind Iggy Pop) and some further digging about with google to get the song title:

Tiny Girls - Iggy Pop

Here's mine...from the late 90s:

Johnny wants a brain
Johnny wants to suck on a Coke
Johnny wants a woman
Johnny wants to think of a joke

This is Bowie's 'I'm afraid of Americans' Exclamation Very Happy

How about some mid 90's Burroughs-inspired hip-hop?

Like an exterminator running low on dust
I'm bug powder itchin' and I can't be trust
Interzone trippin' and I'm off to Annexia
I gotta get a typewriter that's sexier

Bomb the bass..bug powder dust. But what do the lyrics mean? Some well- travelled songwriters there!

OK..better solo than with the team..

Who will sing in celebration
Throughout this land that's bound to die?

Great Spirit - Robert Plant

***************************

From the 90s:

Look I'm standing naked before you
Don't you want more than my sex
I can scream as loud as your last one
But I can't claim innocence
