Top business organizations put out a policy statement yesterday saying Korea needed to reduce the number of holidays given to workers in order to stay competitive with countries such as Japan and Taiwan. The government has said it would stop recognizing Arbor Day and Constitution Day as holidays starting next year.

Sad, but it is a part of the whole 5 day work week coming into practice. If only they could move thier Sunday holidays to Monday or any other work day. |

Korea has not yet discovered the concept of working short, but productive hours.
They're still slaves to working 10 hour days, of which 2 or 3 hours are spent playing Go Stop on the computer.
So, with no more Saturday workdays, they have to add on the time some where. |
