Where you guys taking your tests? I am in Pohang and I had to take a 50 question test and get em all right, because my Australian licence has expired. i also have to take a drivers test. according to the book of rules or whatever it is everyone must take the equivalent of a Korean drivers test if their license has expired.

tests are offered in English,German,French,Japanese and Chinese.

They can also fine you up to W3,000,000 if they want to if you drive without a valid license. That means you gotta have an international license or a current Korean license. Same fine applies if you don't have all your insurance stuff in your car

Would they accept a Mexican licence (Oaxaca State) as a valid licence? Most countries don't, including the Internetional Drivers Licence people.

Sadly, it's the only licence I still have.

i have a valid driver's license from illinois, and i got my license two months ago from the Yongin DMV...without taking the written exam.
if you have a valid license (which has not expired) from back home, you shouldn't have to take the exam. you need two photos, your license, your alien registration card, and passport just in case, and of course some money. they'll make you crouch and get up and take a look at those pictures with green and red dots all over to see if you can distinguish the numbers and not color blind. it was over in 30 seconds...
but you'd have to wait for about 20-30 minutes to get your license made.

just call to double check...
