well it's all two sides of a coin- but when I hear people say stuff like

I just think- well that means I'm only an hour and a half from you, but if I want to eat lasagne on a Wednesday night, I can go out and get some. |
Yea well that means I can nip in to Seoul, grab the ingredients for lasagna, go home, make a pile of it, and freeze some and eat it whenever I want!

Yeah well, whilst you're in Seoul trying to find cornflour, I can be round at your place putting all the CDs in the wrong cases.
So just watch it OK? |

I found a way where I can have lasagna any day of the week, and I live 1h30 from Seoul. It's called cooking with an oven. |

I'm allergic to lasagna.
Actually Mungyeong is the best city in Korea. Although I was in Daegu today and I was thinking it was nice to be in a big city. And again, on the way back, I walked around Sangju for a half-hour and thought I'd like to explore that place more. And there was was the little village I walked through the other day, with some residents HIGHLY nonplused to see a man from outer space, er, I mean a oegukin, in their own small place. And there is the places in the mountains where there are No People Around At All (at least this early in the season). So, I guess, um, if you're not in the city you love, love the city you're in.
It helps when you can put up with yourself.... |

I would say that Seoul is the best to work
But...if I was to say the best city to live in Korea, I would definitely say Pusan.
I fell in love with Pusan during my first trip there on new years day in 1999. The city has almost the same flavor as Seoul, but I get a more friendlier atmosphere there than what I would get in Seoul.
It is like a countryside mentality in a big city.
And I found subway to be way cleaner than Seoul's.
My best experience was during the Buddha's birthday parade in Seomyon. I was just watching the parade as people passed by, but when they saw me, they instantly bellowed out "Hello!" or "Hi, how are you!". I was even asked to join one of the groups, but I had to take the next KTX to Seoul.
Pusan people are better than the people in Seoul hands down any day of the week. |

| The main problem I had with life in Seoul was that it was so hard to get out of Seoul... When I saw the pictures DW posted of his dong (neighbourhood, not ) I could admit they were impressive, but they also made me feel kind of clausterphobic. I need some space to run and throw my arms around now and then... but I'm not going to say that where I live is great for everyone -- it's just great for me. |
