|
|
I was told that my external hard drive got messed up. Specfically the FAT got wiped out. The tech support guy said there was a 90-95% chance that my files are still on the disk. Does anyone know how i can do this? Any free utilities or do they all cost money. Also, is this possible manually or do I need software to do it?
Thanks. |

I was looking into the same kind of software about a month ago.
I found two programs which were free but they were absolute crap so I won't tell you their names. Anything that is worth using will require that you pay for it. It's not so bad though, if you only have to pay $50 to recover your data, that's not so bad. I would suggest visiting tucows.com and checking out the demos for "Recover My Files", "Active@ Undelete", or "File Scavenger". You can download the demo there for each package but they will be largely useless for a harddrive recovery until you purchase the license to remove the file size block.
Good luck! |
