I have recently obtained a slimline PS2, I ahve a few questions which hopefully someone can answer.
Will it work in England ?
What exactly does chipping the PS2 entail? costs? where ? what does it do ?
whats the best place to buy another controller? memory card ? games etc. ?
any game recommendations? especially sports games.
cheers in advance |

The power adapter should work in England. If you bought an NTSC PS2 (likely if you got it here), you'll need a TV that can handle the input, or a converter (most UK TVs can now handle both 50Hz and 60Hz input, but not all).
I've not found anyone in Korea able to chip my (UK) slimline PS2
I got my extra controllers etc from Homeplus - perhaps not the absolute cheapest, but cheap enough. You could probably buy cheaper in Yongsan though.

thanks for your help
i got it chipped in yongsan - most places wouldnt do it though. It totally screwed up the PS2, I took it back the next day, they fixed the problem and it seems to be working fine now.
Where is the best place in Yongsan for reliable pirate copies ?

not great - could have been worse i guess
basically i got a refund for the money i paid for the chipping.
swapped my half working slimline PS2 (and a bit of cash) for a second hand big one (and some games) - i could have done a lot better - but ive had enough of the place |
