you can only sign another work visa after the previous ones expires (if you don't have a 'letter of release' issued from your previous employer).
but you can come back to korea anytime you want as a tourist. |

And, as I understand it, if your boss turned you in to immigration for running, you are out of luck for like 4 or 5 years on ever getting an E-2 visa again. |

No chit, D. Then that further pisses me off. I have a boss who had two weeks pay witheld pay installed to deter runners. I forced him to forget it and he's been a pain ever since. Holding a grudge about being put in his place by an underling about something that's not only illegal, but insulting to a veteran teacher. Korea's my 'home'. Like I'm going to run and risk not getting an E2 for five years.
Now he won't give an advance and act surly about everything. But most of the teachers don't bother him. He's a recluse behind the reception desk |

By that I assume that you intend to come back to Korea and teach. This would mean that you would be back here for illegal private lessons?
Or are you here on a holiday?
If it is option one...nice going. First you runout on your contract, now you graduate to being a fully illegal teacher...nicely done.
Unless you intend to get another type of visa (of the F kind for example). |

this is really a topic for another thread
but you could understand someone who would want to avoid the problems of having a wonjang owning your visa after being fucked over twice in 14 months
but regardless im going to see friends not to work |

I find the 'runner' with a 4-5 year penalty hard to believe though. I mean usually people only do the runner if their school royally sucks.. (or they hate Korea - but then why would this poster want to come back?)
Also, if you just give your notice.. and your owner doesn't accept it.. or refuses to accept it.. they could essentially ban you from coming back for 5 years and say you did a 'runner'?
Nah, can't be!
Legally its gotta only be tied to NOT being able to get another work visa until the previous one expires without a 'letter of release'. |
