| I had this strange experience about 5-6 years ago when I lived in Seoul. Just remembered when I saw someone post a subject header about an adult movie theater. My girlfriend and I went out one Saturday afternoon to see a movie. The movie I wanted to see was sold out at one of the the popular movie theaters downtown so we wandered around until I saw an ad for an old sci fi movie I wanted to see which looked like it was being re-run at an old theater off a main road. We bought two tickets and entered the theatre which was old but amazingly had a huge screen and many seats. The theater was about half full. Strangely the sci fi movie I wanted to see was not playing. Some American B rate movie was playing i.e. bad acting, no-name actors etc. We determined that the movie and the sci fi movie were running all day and we just had to wait for the sci fi movie to come on. As soon as we sat down I quickly noticed the gentleman one seat over was staring at me. I thought, "Oh no some obnoxious guy who is going to give me trouble over being with a Korean girl." He continued to stare at me, watch the movie, and stare at me and then look around. I noticed this behavior from the people in front as well, though they were not turning to look at me, they were simply looking at the people sitting not too far from them. No one seemed interested in the movie, at least the people in our vicinity. We sat and waited for the movie which seemed to be almost over, to end. Ten minutes later it ended and the lights came on. There were maybe approx. 100 men in suits in the theater and only one woman. Of course that woman was my girlfriend. When the lights came on, no one left the theatre, instead they simply were looking each other over. They were in suits because they had just finished their Saturday half day of work. The gentlemen next to me really gave me a hard stare then. I freaked and slowly got up with my girlfriend and got the heck out of there. Anyone had this experience before? |

No.
It's probable that you were in the gay pick up theater around Pagoda Park. |

I saw "Invasion USA" with Chuck Norris at a cineplex and there was one other person in the theater. Earlier I was on campus and I read an article in a campus newspaper about mischief over the holiday season. One of the things the author suggested was finding a theater just like the one i'm in now and sitting next to or near them like right in front. I thought about that during the "film". The movie wasn't very good.
I went to an art house theater where the seats were pews. That was bad. Then we watched commercials from the 1950's about toys. The theme was "boys play with fire trucks and girls play mom". We saw a half hour of toy fire trucks, toy stoves and some ketchup commericals from the '70's. Then finally, Charles Bukowski films. |
