I've taught at Hanslang and I wouldn't recommend it. You'll be incredibly overworked i.e. 32-36 actual teaching hours per week, with a measly 16,000 won overtime. The "head" (more like s**thead) western teacher is more worthless than a sack of rocks. If you are teaching kindy there too, it's a total hassle. You never mfind anything out until the last minute. There's tons of extra crap you have to do all the time, plays, presentations. The owner is incredibly greedy and most of the foreign teachers I worked with were complete incompetent putzses. On the other hand...you won't get cheated on your pay. |

I worked at Yeonsu-dong Kids Club and it was fine while I was there...but apparently it went really downhill from there. I was there for 2 years from 1999-2001. |

You need to be more precise if you want feedback about Kids club.
Also, why not get info on the schools yourself and call some of the foreign teachers there? That would give you info from the horses mouth. Maybe finding these numbers might be difficult but you could always call up the school and ask to speak to one of the foreign teachers. |

Hi,
I'm posting this in hopes that someone thinking about working at Hanslang in Anyang will see it.
Avoid this place at all costs! The owner (Helen) is a complete nutjob.
Its a great place to work if you like getting screamed at. Otherwise, it is not worth it.
She is all over the place emotionally, and will be friendly one day, and then barge into your class screaming the next day.
She made kids cry all the time.
I'm writing this with 3+ years of time to cool off and collect my thoughts, but please reconsider if you are thinking about Hanslang. It is not worth it! |
