My k-girl and I have broken up after over a year and a half together.
In that time, we've both had a great time here in Korea and travelled to other countries together.
I keep a website, mainly of photos of my experiences, and there are, obviously, photos of her on the site.
She's asked me to remove all photos of her from the site and I've told her I don't want to do that. I've removed any photos of her in the past that she didn't like and have not put anything on there that can be said to show her negatively.
Some of her photos have been on there since summer 2003 and she's been fine with all of them up to now.
Anyway, she reckons she's going to call the police if I don't remove them!
95% of them were taken by myself while 100% were taken with my camera, so that makes me the copyright owner, right?
My site's a .com registered in the US and the servers are in the US too. Am I legally obliged to remove the photos on her say? |

Why worry about the legality? Be a gentleman and do what is right. Not everything comes down to a matter of legality. Just remove the photos and move on with your life. |

Whether your break-up was mutual & friendly or unilateral & eye-gouging, she just wants those photos off the Net, regardless of copyrights or legal ownership considerations. She'll not rest until you comply with her wishes/demands, and she may start considering actions that neither of you dreamt she had it in her to contemplate. |

Additionally in Korea she can take you to court and have photo's and all references to her forcibly removed from your site. |

I decided to pull the plug and take a break from the website.

Use the Gaussian blur feature in Adobe Photoshop to blur out her face. |

...Or just replace her face with someone else's.
But like someone above said, what's the point in fighting her? Probably a wise choice to just take the pics down and move on. |

If the sites being hosted in the states, then I doubt there is much she can do. |

Good advice. And wouldn't it make your ex curious or annoyed!
Jeez. Take down the pictures. What will happen if you meet a new girl and she asks why those pictures are there, and you explain the circumstances?

Forget the photos, let's see the home video. One-room porn rocks! |

There was some guy here a while ago that broke up with his GF and threatened her with posting naked photos of her. That's pretty lame threat. Anyway, she got on the phone and called the cops, who paid the evil foreigner a visit.
Whether it's legal or not, we know how laws get enforced or don't get enforced here in Korea. A couple cops would love to put some stick about to defend the honor of a Korean woman from an evil white devil. |
