For a mediocre and largely pointless 'education'. Mental exhaustion for pre-teens. Socially & physically underdeveloped teenagers. 10-year-old suicides Indeed, for what? What is this brass ring they're all chasing after at so early an age? (Skipping the other subjects for a moment,) English ability guarantees what, exactly? A job? For all of these kids? Greater national wealth & prestige?

No doubt!
I tell my students almost weekly about my feelings on how they study too much -- and ineffectively, at that.
They agree.
They are so darned tired that they lose focus, sleep, or just want to take a rest. They get almost no chance to "be kids" or to have fun.
These kids grow up being taught by crap teachers who teach at crap schools with crap programs. Then they go to whatever University they are lucky enough to get into, learn more crap, then turn around and teach the same crap to the next generation.
It's kind of like a dog taking a dump, then eating it again. Repeat the cycle. |
