I'll be brining a number of electrical appliances from the uk here (laptop, toothbrush, digi camera) and need to know what type of plug adapter to convert it from our 3 pin ones to Korean ones.

Will a universal travel adapter cover it? and are they save for long term use?

Thanks,

Chris

You'll have no problems. The plug here is the international round 2-pin, with or without side earth terminals.

What I usually do is cut the UK buggers off and fit the local plugs.

You can buy the British 3 square pin--round 2 pin adaptor in any electrical shop in the UK.

Don't worry about voltage. It's the same.

What I do is just buy a korean power cord to replace my British power cord. If you can disconnect at the appliance end that is.

I brought a UK 6-way adapter with me. Then I cut off the plug off THAT and put on a Korean plug. Saves swapping around lots of plugs.

By the way, the plug here isn't exactly the same as the one used in continental Europe. The pins are thicker, and a lot of the continental style adapters fail to keep a good connection.

Yep, I've notcied that sometimes. Another reason for fitting local plugs and not relying on the adaptors. Then just fit UK plugs when (if) you return.
