That is kind of insulting to a filipino. Imagine if we substituted Jew, Black, or any other racial or ethnic group for Filipino. That is just plain wrong. You should be ashamed of yourself in making such racist comments.

Rolling Eyes That's a stretch trying to make some "board points" off of Gollum.

How many "white" westerners do you see working as DDD workers in Korea? How many "white" taxi drivers do I see here in Abu Dhabi.

While it might not be "PC" that specific nationalities end up in positions for "generalizations" about their culture/country pointing out that it is commonplace is hardly RACIST...

Sounds like I made the right choice in regards to them.
When my GF and I decided to go to Korea we originally wanted to work in the same school. Anyway, she got offered a public school gig through WorknPlay and they wanted me to come over and work for them (with my comp sci/web dev background).

They wouldn't tell me straight out they wanted me to work without a "proper" visa. Had they, we likely wouldn't have had the problem. Instead they danced around the issue and I got the impression they didn't know what they wanted.

So instead of traveling 50 minutes everyday to their office I found a job 1 block away from my apartment. I get the feeling if I had taken the job I might have not enjoyed my Korean experience as much.

On the other hand, as far a recruiters go they seem to be one of the better shops around as far as "Koreans servicing Westerners" go...

Did I actually say servicing? Embarassed I didn't get involved in that aspect of Korean culture...having a GF and all. Razz

Whitey, maybe it's my fault for the way I worded it, but understand that I am very much a defender of philipinos as a workforce.

I just know some additional background infomation which isn't prudent for me to share for various reasons. I will say, however, that Turtle hit on the head...

Please don't take my post as degrading to filipinos... I can assure you that's not what I meant. It's more about what someone might pay a filipino (compared to a Korean or Westerner) for doing said work. And possibly what things could be manipulated, etc. because the new worker would be filipino.
