Normally for July positions, we can get exact positions for you in June. So at that time, I will contact
you with some offers. |
....Is what my recruiter has sent me regarding the job situation. I sent him my documents so he could start looking for something and after he recieved them he sent me an e-mail thanking me, after which I replied asking when he would start sending me offers. Then he sends me this.
Im not too worried since he seems ok and this may be legit. I do, however, find it a bit odd (not to mention ive got a bit paranoid reading some of the threads on dave's).
Should I be worried? |

Things are often (usually?) done at the very last minute. It can be hair-raisingly stressful. |

Thanks Ya-ta,
I am craping myself right now
I just did a search for my recruiter on daves and came up with a quite negative thread. Granted only one but some one (I think it was demonicat) said they had heard many people hating on this guy. His name is Matthew Kim SnB recruiting.
Thing is i really messed up I think, because I sent him my original Diploma, I know , I know, big f up. Thing is I got too over excited with this new idea and rushed into it. Its not the end of the world if i cant get it back of him, assuming he is bogus, since I can get another copy from my uni. Thing is I was getting psyked up to go in july and now it may take more time and money (which I dont have).
I dont know if Im just being paranoid though and maybe I should just hope for the best.
Many people have said that the recruiters are just matchmakers and that it doesnt really matter who you go with, which I have no problem assimilating. Its just that as I really am looking forward to this and I dont know what to think or do. |

do a search for 'blacklists korea'. Matthew Kim is on all of them.
other ESL websites, and, i think ESL-Law has a blacklist too.
yes, stay away from him.
NEO is another rotten apple i have personally got a grudge against. |

you: yeah, sorry, i've decided on japan(or any random excuse) instead....so, i'm gonna need that diploma back.
MK: *shuffles paper* I'm sorry, i think i lost it.
you better order a new one. |

You could try that, and who knows? Maybe he will give it back. Then again, maybe he won't. He's got you by the balls if he doesn't give it back. Or so he probably thinks.
How quickly can you get a replacement degree from your uni and how much time do you have to wait? That's the most important thing for you to worry about now. |

I can probably get a replacement from my uni in a week or so.
I can in theory wait another month but I dont want to ( current job sucks hard)
I just spoke to my mother and she may know of a contact in the korean embassy. My mum suggested I send him an e-mail saying my mother was terribly ill and i couldnt go to korea anymore, I could also say that since I would never expect him to pay to send my docs back he could just drop them off at the embassy to this person. That way I can get them back and get this friend to send them onto a more reputable recruiter, not loosing too much time in the process.
What do you guys think? |

Ok has anyone heard of Kim and joe recruiting, EFL2 Korea or ESL dream recruiting agency EDRA? They seem to be recommended by EFL Law. |

if you're working with a recruiter...contact as many as you can and don't send your degree until you have a job you're gonna take. Also, don't call the recruiter "My recruiter" cuz he's not working for you. |

There are two types of recruiters:
Greedy money grubbing soulless automatons who will sell you out as soon as look at you.
Then there are the bad ones! |
