Hello everyone. At the end of July my parents are coming to visit me during my week long summer vacation. Apparently their interests are very different from mine ( ) so the things I do here in Korea won't be very fun for them.
Does anyone have any suggestions for musuem/cultural things to do in Seoul and nature/sightseeing stuff to do outside of Seoul? I know we're staying in Seoul for a few days but after that we're pretty open to going anywhere else in Korea.
Thanks in advance. |

I just saw NANTA last weekend, and immediately cursed myself for not bringing my mom to see it. It was great! Good for all ages. Afterwards, a beautiful walk from the Changdong theater to Duk-su-geung Palace is, IMHO, the nicest walk in Seoul.
Also not too far is Insadong. Try to reserve a trip to the DMZ (The USO tour is the best), which is always interesting to visiting family.
Also check out what's going on at Sejong Theater across from Kyobo in Kwanghwamun or the Seoul Arts Center in Kangnam. They have all kinds of cool performances to see.
Remember, your family will enjoy everything here, even the crazy neon signs at night, cuz everything is new to them.
Hope this helps. |

Kyungju is worth a day.
There are also temples where you can stay overnight. Some people really enjoy that kind of thing. |

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
I talked to my parents tonight and we sort of decided on: Seoul for a few days, DMZ tour, Sorak-san and Jeju. |

I took my mother to that folk villiage in Yongin when she visited. Lots of things to see and do there. It went over very well. |
