For the last 3 years I have been using Thrunet as my ISP. For the most part I was happy, but over the last few months I was having trouble with speed and staying connected. There was far too much downtime and then last wekend the internet was gone for 2 days. I switched to Hanaro.

Internet is very fast, and I do not have to deal with a cable modem (thrunet replaced it twice). When using thrunet and I was FTP'ing files to my web host in California my top speed was about 50kbps, however at this time, I'm uploading some files and my current average speed is 260kbps.

More than 5 times faster and it only costs 5,000 won extra per month.

If you need internet I would recommend Hanaro.

I also used KT Megapass for 1 month before I started with thrunet and I found it to be slower than molasses in January.

I'm hooked up with ABN in Bundang -- but it only works for an hour or so and then goes down...almost like the modem gets too hot and has to cool off? Does that sound right? Anyone else have problems with ABN or is it just that I have a faulty modem ... or worse, is it something wrong with my PC?

I used ABN in Bundang last year. Generally, no problems. But I did have to reset the modem a lot. Pain in the arse. Just pull out the modem's power cord and put back in.

Happens to me with Hanaro. Still haven't figured out if it's a system problem or a hardware one.
