I been wondering about what I will do when I go back to USA (job, travel, study, where will you settle, etc.). A lot of my friends here have the same question. |

I will enjoy my life and remember the good and bad about korea!
But I do not want to waste my whole life here!
I will make a new home and life in a foreign country as I always have!
just keep moving forward and traveling and experiencing new cultures and meeting new and exciting people! take my family with me so my daughter has a real unique up bringing, and a couple countries she can call home like myself!
keep moving! |

I'm looking into going to Beijing, it scares me though, chinese looks a lot harder to read/speak/understand than korean. |

A couple of my college mates came back from Korea with money saved up to get their MAs, and are now pursing their PhDs.
A friend just email me from Beijing University after completing an intensive Chinese language studies, and I believe he will also be pursuing his PhD. |

Go back to the world of high tech. Probably find a funky software company in downtown Toronto to start with then try and make my way to Vancouver. |

Marry here, perhaps... live and work here another 4 to 5 years after that. Save about $110,000 on two incomes, then head back home to put a down-payment on a nice home and raise some kiddies. |

Do you think that teaching here will land you a good job? |

No.
But my previous experience before teaching will.
I'll get back into what I did before without much problem. Will probably have to work at a lower pay than I was at before I left, though. At least for a year or two. |

Even though I still really want my M.A in English...there is no way I want to teach in the States (except community college). I might consider going into law instead. |

Add another one going to China.
I got myself a nice job lined up in September, and Chinese teachers in waiting all over the city. I figure I'll make a big committment to learning Chinese, enjoy an Olympic games, then see what happens next.
Going from Korea to China is like going from the darkness to the light. I could just do without the SARS this time. |
