I would have liked it a lot more if that General Grevous Droid didn't cough throughout all his lines. For Gods sake why couldn't someone get him a glass of water
I would have prefered Jar Jar to that.

And where the hell was Han Solo?
George missed a great opportunity to stick a ten year old Han in there somewhere.
We get a young Darth, a young Chewbacca, a young Boba Fett, even a young Grand Moff Tarkin at the end, so why not a young Han Solo??!!
Thats just wrong, and stupid.

He also could have put in a young Lando. Could be wrong but I don't think there were any black kids in the movie.

And the Ewoks, we needed some Ewoks in there killing stormtroopers with sticks and logs.

Loved the new music John Williams wrote, the spaceships were cool too.

Next up George is going to make the prequel prequel trilogy.
We will be introduced to Palpatine when he is a nice sweet 6 year old kid.
Thats gonna be just great!
The effects will I'm sure be amazzzing!!

i too couldn't understand why a droid was coughing. Do they even breathe? eat?

A lot of the critics fault it for a "wooden dialogue" and i'd have to say they are right. it's a fine movie but I really wish Lucas would have had someone else write the lines.

Grievous was previously human (hence the real eyes and heart) but had deteriorated to his present state.

It wasn't without cheese, but overall, I think it did a pretty decent job of wrapping things up. I give it a B.

I've caught part of the cartoon series on Cartoon Network. Grievous was part alien. He's supposed to be sort of a proto-type of the technology used on Vader. I wish they would've played that up more, rather than just showing eyes and a heart.

I was reading up on the movie on imdb.com, and saw a lot of the rants about plot holes, inconsistencies, or whatever. That's all true, but I voted for "I loved it."

It was actually darker than I had expected. Which was good.

My only regret is still with that first prequel. Why did it have to suck so bad?

Don't believe the hype. It was just OK, certainly better than the previous two movies. Hardly a classic though. Lucas can not do 'dialogue'.

Time magazine recently had an article about this. Apparently it IS going to happen. Lucas mentioned a supernatural twist to it.. there would have to be since Ford is falling apart.

The supernatural twist was supposed to be Roswell and UFOs. At one point a teaser was actually going to be added to the release of the trilogy on DVD. But GL nixed Frank Darabont's script, even though Spielberg et al were behind it. Then Lucas said he wasn't interested in going back there.

Of course Paramount still wants it made, but the chances of it getting done are slim to none. Harrison Ford is now older than Sean Connery was when Connery played his father in Indy 3. And who's interested in seeing a "new" Indy?

Rocky 6 has a better chance of actually getting made.

they all want to do it! they have been looking for the script for 10 years and I think I read that they have finally got one.. so now its all about time. now that spielberg is free from Wars it might happen in the next 2 or 3 years!

According to imdb.com, it's a go.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0367882/

There's not much there, other than that it supposedly has a 2006 release date.

I saw a recent interview with Stallone. He says there ARE plans in the works for another Rocky movie, as well as another Rambo film.

...and to get this thing back on track...

I posted this in another thread, but might as well add it here, too:

Beware of some minor spoilers.

The wooden / cheesy dialogue has already been discussed, so I'll just move on.

First of all, the special effects. They were good. Quite good, in fact, but I think they just went too far overboard. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it. The space battle scenes, the planet city (Coruscant?), the light sabre battle scenes, the high-speed chases (Ep. I/II/III), all the other battle scenes... they're all just overwhelming. There's way too much stuff going on to be able to stay focused on what's really going on. CG graphics have come a long way, but there are still too many times when I find myself thinking, man, they could've used a model for that shot.

The next thing is the scene when the four Jedi masters go to arrest the chancellor. Palpatine jumps up, and bang, before you know it, two of the masters - who were already holding their light sabres out and ready to rumble - are dead. The first one didn't even flinch, the second one put up the weakest of resistance before being skewered -c'mon, these are Jedi MASTERS here!

Somewhat related to that first gripe, I'm all in favour of "suspension of disbelief", but a lot of stuff in these prequels just goes just a little too far. Pod racers flying at 600 MPH 6 feet above the ground through narrow twisty canyons? I don't care how much Force you've got, I just don't buy it. Again, the battle scenes. Obi Wan gets knocked off that cliff and falls, what, 20, 30 stories, into a lake, and just... swims away. The elevator scene, when they're basically free-falling and just happen to flip themselves through the open door. R-i-i-i-g-h-t.

Still, I thought it was a pretty good movie - not great, mind you. Just wish that all the CG had been toned down a little.

Imdb isn't always very reliable. They once had New York Mets catcher Mike Piazza credited as the protagonist in 'Teen Wolf.'

Rolling Eyes

But, yeah, I guess George and co. still are interested in making Indy 4 happen (2007 is more likely, though, with Spielberg scheduled to shoot another pic after this summer's 'War of the Worlds'' production wraps). But who is really interested?

(PS - the script for Rocky 6 actually had a good premise. But according to Stallone it was killed. I believe he published exerpts in 'SLY' magazine, which -- I'm guessing, based on the mag's title -- he has some editorial control over. But a Rambo sequel is, unbelievably, indeed, the works, with Rambo heading a team of covert operatives. Has hollywood learned nothing from 'Blade III?')

I heard many years ago that Lucas was filming a Raiders sequel where Indy goes on a trek with the son that he had with that hotty from the first movie. Supposedly, they go in search of Noah's Ark. I heard that years ago on Mark & Brian's KLOS morning show from someone who was working on the set. The guy went so far as to say that the screenplay was printed on a certain shade of red that photocopiers couldn't distinguish from background and print, thereby rendering a black copy.
