What are some things to keep in mind when doing a job search while already in Korea? I'm not there yet but will be in Japan in June and most of July, after that if I haven't found work I plan on checking out Korea. Would Taiwan or Thailand be valid sources also?

I need some advice on a basic game plan so that I can keep my wits about me when I get off the plane. Is there an equivalent to O-Hayo-Sensei in Korea? Would it be better to look at Dave's for leads and then interview in person before accepting any jobs? Is there a better source than Dave's if you are in country, my Korean consists of a few phrases and a Lonely Planet guide.

I know that this topic has been brought up before so any links will be appreciated, but real dialog is nice too.

Thanks a heap.

Smile

of course.
narrow down a few places that interest you and set up some interviews. korea is small enough, and the infrastructure is efficient enough for you to get around easily....except into the boonies.

I reckon have a look on the net regularely and then set up interviews for when you get here. My faves were daves, and teachersboard.com

if you are interested in a particular job, why post a message and see what the more experienced lot have to say about the school/pay/recruiter etc

Dont worry, Its not as daunting as you think!
