In case anyone's wondering, CGV's website says Hitchhiker's Guide will be here June 17.

Assah!

Seen it already. Got it from torrent. I was ready to be disappointed but it is actually pretty good.

It sticks to the original story quite well though it's not quite as good as the original tv series. The actor who plays Tim from the office makes a great Arthur Dent, the 'new' Zaphod is pretty crap, Trillion is not as good as the original but all in all it is quite a good remake, I was expecting a lot worse.

Oh thank god! I was just about to download it from the net and hate myself forever after. Wonder if I can drag my GF to this one too? I told her she would have to go to see Star Wars with me and wear a miniskirt. All my life I wanted to be the sci fi geek with the hot gf in a mini skirt at a star wars movie...

As a longtime fan (ever since the radio play) I found the movie very disappointing. It was all there- more or less- but it just wasn't... funny.

I love the old series (have it on VHS around here somewhere) and the books are great. I'm curious to see how the new version pans out.

OK, so the 17th has come and gone and CGV doesn't have it. Anyone know where it's playing (preferably in Gwangju?) Question

It might be one of those movies that never makes it or just gets alimited release in and around Seoul...a lot of movies that are super popular back home don't get picked up here due to differing humour or they are just too quirky for the Korean audience and don't make enough money.

I just rang CGV and they said they have dropped it and have no plans to release it nationwide.....

Batman Returns starts next Thursday
War of the Worlds July 7th.

I watched it last week.
Not a fan of the books. Wasn't a fan of the movie.
Having seen both I don't think fans will be disappointed.

(Mind you I didn't jab pencils in my eyes or ears. It wasn't horrible to a non-fan.)

I enjoyed the movie (it came out in the US a couple days before I came to ROK) but it's main flaw is the same as the book's --- too short! It gets you all excited and turning pages, then it just ends in a rather silly way. I loved the casting of the movie.
