Bought the new Bravery album last week but I haven't been able to listen to it yet.
My computer won't play it because it's copy-protected. When I insert the disc all I get is a flash player with videos for two of the songs.
Any suggestions? |

1. buy low-grit sandpaper
2. place cd on table with the silvery/iridescent side facing up
3. rub sandpaper briskly across that side of cd.
4. try to play it again. if nothing overtly 'musical'happens, you have had an entirely positive experience in listening to this band. |

when you put the CD it into the slot on your PC- hold down the shift key. For some reason this stops the autorun thing from starting up, and you should be able to rip it as normal.
Charming this whole copy protection thing isn't it? |

CDEX ripper hasn't let me down yet on over a dozen copy-protected CDs.
Man, that copy protection pisses me off mightily:
I bought and paid for my CDs and the record company tries to prevent me from playing them on my MP3 player?
Well, F__k that noise!
Interestingly enough, last summer it seemed that every CD I bought had protection while lately I haven't come across any at all, and I've been buying A LOT of CDs.

Copy protection is a minor annoyance at best. There's always someone who will break it. Even if they couldn't someone would just record it analog and save it in a separate file, then put that up on the web.
I wonder why they bother even trying to stop it at the moment. |
