I've never seen so many spontaneously occurring nosebleeds since I came to Korea, mostly in kids...so maybe all kids go through a major nasal bloodloss stage? Is it pollution? Too much formula and not enough of breastfeeding? It must be contagious because I NEVER got nosebleeds before I came to Korea and since I moved to Kangnam I've had two. Is hemophilia a big problem here? Any theories?

It's not an illusion; even adults here get an inordinately large number of nosebleeds. Someone told me it was the result of too much ginseng because ginseng 'thins' the blood.

No idea if there is anything to it.

The Korean kid on my high school soccer team used to get a nosebleed every other game. We had to retire his blood-stained jersey at the end of the year.

Hmm, I'll throw in my two cents,

I hadn't had a nosebleed in YEARS. Then my Uni finals came up and I had three in 2 weeks. (I was pretty worried at the time)

Took my exams and then I haven't had one since. Perhaps the fact that they work 12 hours a day 6 days a week (or are forced through school, taekwondo and numerous hagwons afterward) is why they get more, so simple stress?

It's a sure sign you are depraved and thinking about knockin' boots.
