I'm taking a trip to B/Pusan this weekend, Saturday night there then Sunday night in Gyeongju(?)

Well I was wondering where the best areas to eat/drink and generally have a wonderful time are down south?

Jagalchi Market is a good place to eat. So much seafood to choose from, they cook it in front of you, and it has a great atmosphere.

What do you consider to be a "good time"?

If you're into clubs, I've heard of a place called Vinyl Underground that's supposed to be off the hook.

Thanks for the tips so far- I guess a good time is just a lively area to go to with some places we can sit outside and drink, then go to a club- preferably close to Hyundae beach which is where most of our time will be spent.

Vinyl Underground eh? I keep seeing breakbeat nights advertised there.

Rent a car, or hire a taxi and follow the coast road east and north around the headland from Haeundae - beautiful drive - great views. Quaint little coastal villages.

Vinyl is good, a large ex-pat crowd and a mixture of music.
Its at Kyungsan University subway stop, come out and ask the first foreigner you see, they will tell you where to go.
Also check out Seomeyeon at night time, its the really lit us and the streets are thriving with activity.
Theres also a few hot springs and temples worth checking out, just pick up a Busan guide from a tourist info place.

OK, so it is kind of a dorky touristy thing to do but if you have some time to kill during the day there is a boat tour that takes you around the harbour. When you go into the ticket area you will see all of the Korean/Japanese people buying those bags of twizzle chips (like potato chips) buy a bag or two (whether you like them or not) Do not eat them before you get on the boat.

If you have any weird phobias (especially from Alfred Hitchcock's old stuff) I suggest against this. Otherwise it is quite spectacular.

There is a good Indian restaraunt across from the aquarium in Harbor Town. It's a building filled with Foreign joints. Ganga (Indian), a Vietnamese, TGIFs, Bennigan's are all in the building. Also a really good hotdog joint called New York Hotdog is directly across from the acquarium.

For bars in Kyungseong there is Vinyl, Foxy, Osum and another one I just can't remember the name of it. Let me think about it and I will edit my post as well as trying to give some directions to Vinyl.

Ah now I've done that before, it was fun- but slightly less so after I got a direct "hit" to the shoulder

Yongdusan Tower is worth a visit, as are Beomeosa and Yonggungsa, both beautiful temples.

When I lived there the best areas were PNU (cheapest) and Haeundae, the Mariott Hotel bar (expensive). There's also downtown, Seomyeon, to consider: the Hollywood Bar is pretty popular and New York New York.

PNU is good on a Friday night, but it's dead on Saturday. Kyeong sung area is the place to be on Saturday. If you are staying in Haeundae, there is a good foreigner bar across from the Marriott called Join. It's a basement bar that has a pool table and a dart board. There is a regular collection of foreigners that hang out there for a more relaxed time.
