|

Hello,
I got a laptop from someone and I don't have much history except that it is 2 years old. I'm trying to wipe the drive and put on windows 2000. I got up to the part where it had finished formatting the drive and the laptop just died. I tried again and this time I only got to the part where I say I want to format the drive NTFS. After that, the computer just shuts off. Any ideas?
I'm not 100% sure that I am using the right power adapter. It is for a different IBM laptop. The battery light is orange, which when plugged in indicates that it is charging. I'm guessing the power adapter is not the issue.
Thanks. |

ok....if your laptop has the battery in it take the battery out. Plug into mains (with no battery) and try again.
Hope it helps. |
