Ya that's for sure. They had one teacher teaching 3 levels for a couple of weeks and I've been told that alot of students have left because of the different levels and because we left too.

Sometimes the students just like a specific teacher or teaching style and stick with that eventhough they should go up a level every 2 or 3 months and that happened alot with my gf and I.

My gf was in contact with a student earlier on today. We are planning to meet some of them next week and remember the good old times!!

I totally forgot to tell you that I had to actually steal my degree scroll back from the school before I left!!

I asked for it before but they said that they had to hold on to it so that they could show it to the company classes to prove that I'm "qualified". I've asked for it several times and they kept giving me crap so when I decided to quit I had to actually steal it back from them. Well It's not stealing as it's mine!!!

So this is what I did...

When there was a break at 8.50 before the last class at nine, I went into the office to "get a book" when really I was checking to see was my degree scroll there or more importantly where exactly was it? More like a scouting mission. They keep the contracts, resumes and degree scrolls in a blue folder of all the foreign teachers that work in Global.

I had to get it that day as I was going to quit the next day and I didn't want to have to ask for my degree scroll after I quit in case that it would magically go missing.

So then there was an office worker there so I couldn't take it but I would try again after class at 9.50 or so when I hoped that nobody would be there. But alas at 10 I had no luck as the same guy was there messing around on the computer, doing nothing as usual. So I thought to myself, "What the hell do I do?". Do I just take it and run? That would be very very strange to the office worker and he would call one of the bosses for sure if I did that. Also the boss would realise that I was quiting and I didn't want him to know that I was doing a runner.

Then I went over to the blue folder and thought for a second. I couldn't stand there for too long as it would arouse suspision and the office worker would start asking questions. I turned around to him and said, "I'm just going to photocopy my degree". He didn't even look up from his computer and just said, "Ok". I went to the photocopier and opened the blue folder. Everbody's details was inside it. I didn't have much time and I wanted to do it before any of the other teachers came out. The teachers have to punch in and out everyday and the machine is beside the photocopier so I didn't want everybody asking me what I was doing or chatting to me. I had to act fast. I found my degree scroll but I couldn't hide it as there was a few workers around and the office worker could see me in a flash if he moved his head up from his computer. So I photocopied another teacher's degree and then the office worker got up and started to walk out of the office. What if he was going to check on what I was doing? My heart was in my mouth and I was very close to running out. But somehow I kept my cool and he walked right by me just humming to himself. I quickly looked around to see was the coast clear and placed my degree scroll in my jacket and zipped it up so that nobody could see it and put the blue folder back in the office.

I let out a huge sigh and waited for my girlfriend in the reception to finish her class. When she saw me I had a huge smile and asked, "Why do you look so happy?". "I'll tell you in a minute I said patting my chest". Thank God that I got it.

Why did you make such a big production out of it is what I want to know? Just walk in, grab your degree and walk out. Like that. So this office worker calls the boss. What's he going to do? Simply tell him it's your degree and you are keeping it. Period. I mean you are quitting the next day, so it's not like you have to worry about burning bridges, right?

Ok since everybody knows my situation that happened I'm wondering if I can get a new visa now? It is possible to go into a new school and get a new visa? If I finish a job then does the visa finish? I know that I will never get a letter of release from Global. So what options do I have? Has anybody every did this? I really don't want to wait until my visa expires (March 2006!!!). I'm sure that there much be something that I can do?

As far as I know, without the LOR you have two (legal) options. Either wait it out OR go to Immigration and explain. If you can prove that the school was treating you badly, they may give you a new visa.
