I predict that this phrase will fade into obscurity. Phrases like "Dick Cheney is like Darth Vader" and other times when people use it to refer to a person of pure evil that hides behind the strings and pulls the strings. I don't get that impression anymore after Episode III, and I suspect the majority who have seen the movie feel the same.

No bar today. We watched Return of the Jedi and then had one beer. There's a nice open-deck pub/restaurant in Gangnam with two big dogs in the back that pretend to be neglected in order to get food from the other customers.

The inspiration behind the term was Dark Father, and according to the best Starwars website in Star Wars language Darth Vader means "dreaded tormenter"

Mith: Because Vader is more of a sympathetic character in/after Episode III? That's the impression I got.

But I don't think people are thoughtful enough to change their idioms.

People still use the verb "decimate," don't they? Sigh.

Well, I think its insertion into the lexicon is so strong that centuries from now teens will be saying to each other "Gotta get my Darth on, dawg."

prove me wrong.

Actually, my comment was to our resident hard-drinker that called you an idiot. Smile

"Dick Cheney: Washington trembles at the return of 'Darth Vader'"

The sinister, reclusive figure at the heart of the Bush administration, who attracted labels such as Darth Vader and Dr Strangelove, has returned to the heart of Washington and is causing havoc.

I give you that Cheney=Darth is not accurate, and Cheney=Emperor would probably be more apt, but way less catchy after being a non-existent character in the first two films. Of course you also have to account for the fact that you are a huge nerd, and no one cares.
Except for anyone who posted on this thread.
You should all give yourselves wedgies, you have earned them.

Do girls get wedgies, too?

I haven't seen a 'wedgie effective' since Molly Ringwold in 16 candles.
