A splendid idea. I was especially taken with this quote:-

Quote:
Guantanamo "has become the greatest propaganda tool that exists for recruiting of terrorists around the world and it is unnecessary to be in that position", Mr Biden said.

Ah, Ted Rall. I love his political cartoons.

He's the last liberal member of the media who still has a pair.

I would bet anyone that Gtmo is Disney land compared to most mideast prisions. That doesn't make it right but it does make you wonder why far worse mideast prisions never got people angry enough to become terrorists.

I guess I am sorry that the US did many of those things.

I am more sorry that the US was caught doing many of those things.

I am not sorry that anyone connected to Al Qaida , the insurgents suffered what they did. Indeed they deserve far worse.

I agree that something needs to be done about Guantanamo Bay. However, is it somehow more acceptable when the Third World does similar things - to foreigners as well as locals?

I usually agree with Senator Biden. And now is no exception. Release anyone without any compelling evidence to make them stay. Take the lumps for whatever they try to sue for. In the end its not worth keeping them.

As for this Ted Rall guy, he's a gibbering idiot.

No it isn't. But image counts. And besides, were fighting partly because we are supposed to be better as people.

Oh I dunno. Maybe because hooking electric wires to man's genitals is usually considered to be something of a faux pas....but hey. Saddam would've been worse, right?

But I thought it was all about turning the air conditioner up a notch and playing some Iron Maiden a wee bit loud?

Joo, you tricked me! Surprised
