I've got this job that I'm trying to get, and thankfully they didn't offer it to me immediately upon realizing that I was a living, breathing American. It actually feels like they might be picky in who they hire!

Anyways, the job is teaching in Gangnam and living in a single apt in Sadang. Can anybody tell me what that would be like? They're like 5 subway stops away from each other on the green line, so i'm guessing like a 20-30 min commute from my apt door to my teaching desk every morning. I haven't been to Sadang before, however. Is that a good, solid place to live? I'm not asking for much, just for things like air conditioning and the absence of pests.

yeah, no one can give advice on an apartment none of us have seen.

As far Sadang.. well, fortunately you're at two good subway lines for getting around. I guess it also almost puts you imbetween Itaewon and Kangnam for nights out.. as well as Apkujeong. The unfortunate thing is you'll almost always need to taxi to get home most nights. Unless of course you find some local bar in Sadang that you like. On the plus side, it won't cost you an arm and a leg either for that taxi if you venture out.

In regards to commuting to work all the time.. well fortunately the green line is running frequently.. although i'm sure very crowded between those stations!! i like living near my workplace.. but if this job is good.. then I guess its acceptable as well.

with everything in life.. you can always do better.. but at the same time you can always do MUCH worse.

I live in Sadang, and its a big step up from my old place in Mokdong. I was lucky to find a cheap 3 bedroom for me and 2 buddies. Place is full of Hoffs, got a TGIF,Outback for your western needs.

Its great for transport. North South lines, and one stop away from 7 line. ONe draw back is there isnt any decent supermarkets. I do most of my shopping at Costco, 7-8k away, or Kims Club ritht at express bus terminal.

Other than that, lots of drunk people, but in beinde the ation its pretty quiet.
I think you can get a nice place, at a decent size, considering its relative proximity to Kangnam.
There are lots of foreigners around I heard. I heard they live on the opposite side of me, a school has liek a whole building. That is the newer quiet side.

Need anyting send me a msg.
