Notice how anti-Bush feelings rapidly morph into-anti-Israel and then anti-capitalist spewage.

Galloway: I am speaking for tens of millions, and maybe more, around the world, who know the truth about Iraq. Who know that the real criminals are in Washington. Not in the United Nations. The real criminals are in the White House, not in the Elysee Palace. The real criminals are in the Congress, not in the anti-war movement. So I have no respect for this...

This is one of the reasons why we need Al-Jazeera in English, so that we can reach the people who, if you can reach them, you can win their hearts. They are not bad people. The American people are not bad or evil people. But they are ruled by bad people.

Bush, and Blair, and the prime minister of Japan, and Berlusconi, these people are criminals, and they are responsible for mass murder in the world, for the war, and for the occupation, through their support for Israel, and through their support for a globalized capitalist economic system, which is the biggest killer the world has ever known. It has killed far more people than Adolph Hitler. It has killed far more people than George Bush. The economic system which these people support, which leaves most of the people in the world hungry, and without clean water to drink. So were going to put them on trial, the leaders, when they come. They think theyre coming for a holiday in a beautiful country called Scotland; in fact, theyre coming to their trial.

Well, one can be anti-war, anti-Bush and anti-Galloway all at the same time.

Georgie boy certainly loves the limelight, and though he can be entertaining, it becomes very clear, after listening to him for more than 2 minutes that he is an egotistical, blathering imbecile.

Wangja....you are right. I never meant to imply otherwise. I only meant to show how, in the heated campaigning deluded mind of one individual..

such sentiments can easily merge.

Historians might easily look back on our era in 3 simple sentences...

The leading human rights advocates of the time (ACLU, Amnesty Int'l) found strange bedfellows with Islamic facists. The former thought freedom for all was the most important ideal. The latter felt that a book written by ONE MAN should hold all power over all humanity for all eternity.

I wonder who must lose.

I don't think it takes a genius to figure out that the phrase "freedom for all" would include freedom for people who think that one book should hold power for all eternity. Someone of average intelligence should be able to follow that reasoning.

yes,

but when one's freedom for all morphs quite uneasily into death to the other....well, there's a bit of a problem.

But this is what the idiotic left of our time doesn't quite get.

Mark my words....within a few years.....Amnesty Int'l et. al. will set up their shop in Baghdad, furiously testing the freedom that American blood has bought them.....

and they will have, assuredly, forgotten why they have the freedom to wave their righteously indignant conciousnesses in front of the world...

how friggin cute.

When has amnesty defended anyone's freedom to kill people?

Amnesty International had already set up shop, so to speak, in Baghdad. If I recall, their reports on Sadaam's abuses were much heralded by the people advocating the current war.

And I'll bet dollars to donuts that at least a few of the people in Sadaam's prisons didn't exactly subscribe to western liberal notions of freedom. Should amnesty have kept silent about their plight?

Exactly. Bush and co. quoted AI reports before the war, and now they're bashing AI. The amount of unintended irony coming out from Washington these days is quite amazing.

The time has come where anyone can criticize the US govt but anyone who criticizes the US govt is above criticism.

I wish Galloway was a member of this board. I don't think there are any posters on here who would back these comments to the hilt.
