S. Korean man dies during trip to North Korean resort
SEOUL, June 5 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean tourist on a sightseeing trip to North Korea's Mount Geumgang was found dead in his hotel room Sunday, his family said.

The 37-year-old man identified only as Chung, a researcher at a think tank for South Korea's ruling Uri Party, was found unconscious by his wife at a Mount Geumgang hotel room early Sunday morning.

Maybe he just realized that he dropped major money on a trip that was nothing but a money grab for the DPRK?

Come on be realistic. It was fan death. He was probably hot and tired after a day outside and came in to cool off. He switched on the fan and foolishly fell asleep.

He tried to defect, but his wife planted a fan in the room so she could legally claim his millions.

The poor old man died of heart attack. Show some respect to other human beings and save your lame jokes for later.

Poor old man? He was 37, and probably really younger the article quoted was taken from a Korean paper.

Very true -- if it was a heart attack, it's a real wake-up call for all of us.

I didn't think South Koreans were allowed to enter North Korea, even as tourists. I would agree with fan death except, I doubt North Korea even has fans. Only the super wealthy could hope to die of fan death.

I agree with oyu about respecting a death. I think the question about the circumstances though is on everyones mind (well, at least those reading this thread).

I'm not all that offended, because I'm a big fan of black humour. However, I'm afraid I just don't quite see how this qualifies as humour, black or otherwise. A guy went on a trip, had a heart attack, and died. So where's the punchline?
