Americans didn't get "stuck" with Bush. They took a look at his record and said "hey this is great! Let's vote for him again!" And sure enough, they did. Choices have consequences. |

Don't bother. I'm not interested in how many media people are registered with which party. I want evidence that the media is biased.
It is quite possible to be a member of any party and still make an effort to report news objectively. I want substantive evidence that there is bias. I don't accept right wing complaints that they are victims because I don't accept whining as legitimate evidence. |

Best possible response to a very common and very silly notion. The rightwingers say the words "liberal media bias" so may times it becomes a meme that is accepted as true with no evidence necessary, and when asked for such kind of support, they usually say something like "I'll get back to yiou ..."
Tiresome, it is. |

Isn't that something prisoners do? Count the days till they get out?
Except for the prisoners in the American "Gulag", of course, who have no idea when or if they'll ever be free again.  |

Unless death, resignation or conviction on an impeachable offense intervenes, he will be in office until Jan. 20, 2009. |

Or beyond if the 22nd amendment is repealed or the constitution is suspended. |

My, you're a pessimist. I don't think an amendment can be passed that fast...certainly not one that would grant a privilege to someone as controversial as the Shrub.
I suppose he could suspend the Constitution. It's never happened before, but there is always a first time I guess.
Polls go up and down and right now he's down. His Social Security plans are really hurting him and there is no sign he's going to change his plans. The death toll in Iraq is also hurting his popularity and there is no sign that is going to change any time soon. On top of that, second terms are not successful and he's just a few months into the term. I'm waiting for a big juicy scandal. |

'Bias' and 'slant' are synonyms, so I don't understand what you are saying. If there is 'clearly discernable slanting' then it should be easy enough to provide some specific examples.
I don't think that I have a closed mind about this. I would welcome an open discussion of it. But when I ask, all I get is a generalized blanket condemnation with no examples to demonstrate the truth of the claim. I don't think asking for examples is unreasonable. |

Here's another poll. This one has some new information.
Poll: Six in 10 Want Troops to Leave Iraq
Six in 10 Americans say they think the United States should withdraw some or all of its troops from Iraq � the highest number who have said that in the Gallup poll.
About three in 10 want the U.S. to withdraw all troops now, and about three in 10 said some troops should be withdrawn now. A majority, 56 percent, said they would be upset if more troops are sent to Iraq, according to the poll released Monday.
Support for staying in Iraq has also dropped in a Pew Research Center poll. People were about evenly split on whether the U.S. should keep troops in Iraq until the country is stabilized or bring them home as soon as possible.
Two-thirds in an ABC-Washington Post poll, also taken in early June, say they think the United States has gotten bogged down in the war in Iraq.
The Gallup poll of 1,003 adults was taken June 6-8, the ABC-Post poll of 1,002 adults June 2-5, and the Pew poll of 1,464 adults June 8-12. Each poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

I think they should leave Iraq immediately. It is clear that their presence is sorely needed in Iran. |
