Been a while since I've had one.. I'm talking blood-work - everything..

Has anyone else got a full physical done here?

If so.. costs and locations would be greatly appreciated...

I'd like to get one done before I take off travelling for the summer..

Thanks in advance...

Ditto on Seoul National University Hospital.

That's where I went for my diabetes check up. English speaking doctors, uptodate modern facilities, good reputation, and not too astronomical prices.

Thanks for reminding me that I am way over due for a physical.

Had to get one a couple of months ago for work, cost was 30,000 ( I think that's standard) and results were back in two days.

Mine was 30,000 as well. I went to a larger hospital here. Apparently, none of the smaller clinics want, or are allowed, to do them these days. Done quite quickly and efficiently. Had the results back in a day. Had my eyes checked, including colour-blindness. Then a chest x-ray followed by an ECG. Finally, it was the urine and blood tests. For the urine, they gave me a strip with four sections to take a squizz on...I could have dunked it in the toilet as no one went with me, but I kept things honest...probably better that way; who knows what's in the water? The blood is for checking on things like Hep-A and Hep-B and whether your innoculations are up-to-date or not. I think it also tests for syphilis or something like that. Anyway, it was quite easy even though most of the people didn't speak much English.

Be carefull about being tested for STDs as a postive result is grounds for automatic deportation and doctors are required by law to report all results to the government.

Deportation only comes from AIDS cases. Not regular STDs.

I actually didn't realize that they were going to test for syphilis/gonorrhea. I had someone translate it after. I thought they were only going to do Hep-A, Hep-B, tetanus, and diptheria. Anyway, everything seemed to go okay and I'm glad I had it done. I think the AIDS test is a completely different test that you have to request.

tetanus
n.
An acute, often fatal disease characterized by spasmodic contraction of voluntary muscles, especially those of the neck and jaw, and caused by the toxin of the bacillus Clostridium tetani, which typically infects the body through a deep wound. Also called lockjaw.

Guess it's good to have some of that stuff checked...
