OK want recs where I can get a nice thick juicy steak. No Outback and Fridays don't count. The steaks at Outback give me the you know whats, there is something in the way they prepare them that my stomach doesn't like

There has to be someplace in Seoul that serves a good one. Cost is not a factor.

Try the 3 alley pub in Itaewon. 18,000 won for a great ribeye, with a side of mashed potatoes and a caesar salad. I usually get some bread to sop up the juices. Their whole menu is good, but the steaks come from Oz. Good musky stuff.

If you haven't yet, give some deung shim a try.

But if you are set on a good ol' steak dinner, head for any of the big int'l hotels.

I don't know about Seoul, but do I know there will be some great buffalo steaks and burgers being cooked in a week from now on my BBQ grill at our beachfront home in Canada. I'll probably be grilling a few racks of wild boar ribs the following day.

The Nashvile has the best steakes. New York and T Bone. Comes with baked potato and onions and mushrooms and a big a$$ TV set.

I suggest you go back to OUTBACK and order the ribeye!
itys the best steak you wil get in korea.. the meat comes from OZ and i think it cost 28.000 damn good..

all the other places in itaewon 3alleys, geckos, sujis, what ever all are using aussie beef.. but I think OUT back will get better fillets!

I had a couple of poor steaks at Outback but then I started ordering mine well-done and they came back great. Best I had in Seoul.

I can't recommend the Nashville.

My party was charged for a drink we didn't order and when we pointed it out to the staff she rather curtly told us "Service charge," thinking we were complaining of the total bill amount. I was polite and asked her to re-tally the bill.

She checked the bill and called a coworker and saw that yes, she did indeed overcharge us for a drink. After some grumbling she slapped down the money on the table, rather than in my waiting hand. Service at its finest.

A couple of weeks later I had to meet a friend there, so Nashville got a second chance with me. I ordered a pint of Red Rock up on their patio, along with chips and salsa. Well, the beer came watered down, the chips weren't fresh, nor was the salsa. That killed it for me. Never again.

Gecko's (Garden) is good - I have never been to the other Gecko's.

My preference is 3 A, but that's perhaps as much becuase I am an habitue.

As to Nahsville: no comment.

Except, there was a short period when the food was good, they had a French chef for a short while - beautiful, beuatiful roast lamb ...

Some Koreans have remarked to me about how good the steaks are at New York Steak House in Hannam-dong. I'm due for a trip there to check it oot.

in laymens terms means give me the worst cut of meat you have and burn it up, and throw it in the microwave... cause I wont be able to taste the difference anyway.
ask any chef and they will all tell you the same thing
